It’s been a while! After a pause, we’re excited to announce our last Unconference of the year!
Let’s meet, connect, and explore together one more time before 2025 comes to a close!
But before we start: if you like what we do, if you like what you are reading, share it with others, and/or subscribe. We rely on word of mouth. If you really like what we’re doing, you can book a 1:1 session with one of us to find out what it’s like to work with us.
IFS is evolving and expanding both within and beyond the IFS Institute, with more groups taking things in their hands, organizing, sharing, teaching, and practicing. We wish to continue to encourage the presence of different parts work inspired modalities and to be inclusive to its practitioners and enthusiasts. To include and support coaches and what they bring to the world of IFS and parts work. To welcome psychedelic practitioners, meditation and dharma teachers, those offering support during spiritual emergencies, and people with interesting experiences they want to share. We will of course welcome IFS practitioners & therapists since we don’t believe in creating even more divisions.
“By bringing together IFS enthusiasts of all walks of life from all over the planet, the Unconference is a joyful manifestation of what is possible when we take ‘all parts welcome’ seriously as a way of life.”
Let’s meet and dialogue and get to know each other, and see what happens.

WHAT IS IT?
An online gathering to learn, exchange and connect about Internal Family Systems (IFS) and other parts work based & healing systems.
NOT a training or a conference, the Parts Work Unconference is a participatory event based on Open Space Technology: a way of coming together to exchange, explore and connect about IFS & other parts-work-based therapeutic modalities.
From a past participant:
“Having attended multiple academic conferences previously, this one felt the most intuitive, co-created, wholesome and aligned with my personal values. I felt held, seen and valued in a safe, open and non-judgemental space.”
An online gathering of Internal Family Systems and other (parts-work based & beyond) healing modalities enthusiasts, ranging from those ‘curious to learn more’, those actively integrating IFS into their day-to-day activities, professions & inner work (e.g. IFS-based yoga or art), to those actively providing IFS to others via therapy and coaching.
An opportunity to take part in self-organised participatory group and focused sessions, to meet people interested in existing and emergent topics ranging from “IFS and coaching” to “IFS and parenting” to “spiritual emergencies” (the sky is the limit!)
We will all be sharing experiences, teaching, learning, practicing, and simply connecting with one another. You can expect workshops, panels, brainstorms, and hangouts. Anything really! What happens is up to all of us.
This gathering is an Unconference based on Open Space Technology – we feel it applies beautifully to the IFS model: the event takes the role of the Self, allowing exploration and integration of different flavours of parts and sessions.
WHAT HAPPENS?
We create together! This event is based on the Open Space Technology, so you can expect workshops, panels, brainstorms, and hangouts. Previous topics have ranged from “IFS and coaching” to “IFS and parenting” to “spiritual emergencies”: the sky’s the limit!
As one participant described it:
“The hosts compare the Unconference to a playground. That means you can enjoy the swing, try that high slide or perhaps that unfamiliar equipment. I find that encouraging, and it inspired me to offer an extra session.”
HOW IT WORKS
Based on Open Space Technology, we create the program together. Anyone can propose a session or topic, even if they’re not experts. Many first-time presenters have found the courage to share in our supportive environment.
A first-time participant shares:
“I’m fairly new to IFS and was searching for online information. I didn’t know what to expect, and became so excited when I saw the content, the quality of the session facilitators and the presence of the hosts.”
It is a great opportunity to experiment with bringing workshops, topics, ideas and just open questions, e.g. “how do other IFS informed people combine IFS with (fill in the blank)?”. Our last unconference had many people step in and offer sessions and topics without thinking they’d have the courage to and we hope that with our support you may also come forward.
In case you want to propose a session (either 40 or 80min) and want us to spread the word about it and you before the event, let us know in advance by using this form.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
We welcome IFS and other (parts-work based & beyond) healing modalities enthusiasts, including:
Those curious to learn more
People integrating IFS into their daily lives and work (e.g., IFS-based yoga or art)
Practitioners providing IFS through therapy and coaching
Anyone interested in parts work and healing
MORE
We have an FAQ, and you can find out more about the event on our website, or email us at hello@ifs-collective.com.
IMPORTANT NOTES
This is NOT an official IFS Institute training
This is NOT a setting for receiving therapeutic work
This IS a space for learning, sharing, and community
We very much hope to see you there!
“This was my first Unconference – it was organically beautiful and therapeutic for my parts. I highly recommend it if you are looking for community and find working with others engaging or challenging.”
AND NOW FOR SOME SHAMELESS COMMERCIALISM
We don’t organize the Unconference to make money, and yet some of our parts like being able to pay bills and eat. We do that by offering IFS therapy and IFS coaching sessions. See here if you’re curious about the difference, and read our posts about our approach. If you feel called, or know someone who wants to dip into this world, feel free to explore booking a session with one of us.

Interesting. Interested. :) What was the typical workshop attendee size at past events? My parts prefer small-ish groups.
