Apart from organizing next Parts Work Unconference (that is happening on December, the 6th. It’s free: come, and tell people to come), we have been a bit quiet here.
Things have not been quiet, inside or outside. The world seem to have taken a strange turn, then another, then decided to accelerate into a series of turns and twists.
So we decided to do a thing, and here is the thing: we are launching our IFS/Parts Work Glossary!
We imagine you have questions. We have questions too, and some answers. At least, some of our parts have answers.
But before we start: if you like what we do, if you like what you are reading, share it with others, and/or subscribe. We rely on word of mouth. If you really like what we’re doing, you can book a 1:1 session with one of us to find out what it’s like to work (or play) with us.

Will this set the IFS world straight?
Probably not. Sorry.
Does the world need another IFS and parts work glossary?
Possibly the world itself no, not really. But we felt we wanted one we can rely on, that we do not disagree too much with, and that we can expand when we feel the need.
Is your IFS glossary authoritative?
Let’s be very clear about this: this glossary comes from the people that run events without keynote speakers or pre-existing schedules, and write articles on topics like “the sock of destiny”.
No. It is not authoritative.
Then why?
Glad you asked.
At times, we write about IFS. Or Parts Work. Or at least we mention Parts, when we talk about inner alignment (of what? Parts and values), or anything else.
And we often have this nagging feeling that we should explain what we are talking about, we should expand, specify, justify.
”Is Self energy clear to everyone rearing about IFS? What about critical mass of Self energy?”
Expanding on every concept, every time we write, would take forever, and bore a lot of readers: most of the people reading articles written by an IFS collective have possibly, maybe, heard of parts.
But maybe not: what if we make it big tomorrow, and 99% of our new readers have lots of parts about not understanding what we mean when we talk about parts?

It is also a bit stifling. At times we would want to throw out quick bits about something, and while that something felt quick, after writing all of the preambles and explanations, it’s 4000 words and we do not want to do it again next time we have a quick thing to share.
So here it is. Our glossary in all of its glory.
It means we can just write about things, and link to the concepts as needed1. Also linking to pages is fun.
