Upcoming sessions at the Parts Work Unconferences Jan 20th
The Unconferences are happening in a week: join us!
Our two Parts Work Unconferences are approaching fast and happening next Saturday, Jan 20th. In case you missed the news, indeed these are two events on the same day as we want to accommodate more of our local European and UK timezones. There are still tickets left! You can find out more about the event and grab a free ticket right here. We would love to see you at one or both the events!
We would also remind you that these are free and participatory events: the more, the merrier! Think about it as a playground: it is more fun with more people (we will have enough slides and swings for everyone, don't worry). Or a dance party.
Please tell your friends. Tell other people.
Our marketing parts will be very, very grateful.
Meanwhile, are really excited to announce some of the pre-proposed sessions and pre-announced participants.
First of all, we are super excited to have Joanne Twombly join us!
She will be bringing a session on using the firedrill to sort through countertransference in complex trauma cases. We loved her book on Trauma and Dissociation Informed Internal Family Systems, we found it deep, warm, informative, and we use the tools very often in our practice, so we and our parts are a bit jumping up and down about this.
In case you have not read the book: again, we really recommend it.
Speaking of being fans, Levi from the Integral guide will join us again. It has been a pleasure to have him since a few unconferences ago, and it has been another case of going from "wow, we admire this person's work" to "oh hey, he's here with us".
Maybe he will talk about the guide, maybe about something else that is alive in him, or just attend.
We also highly recommend the guide.
Speaking of people we know and trust, Bill Tierney will also be coming. More details about his session below.
Before getting to the sessions themselves, we also want to announce that the two people behind this project called the IFS Collective, Pau and Alex, will also bring a few sessions, ranging from Parts work to support psychedelic experiences, Coaching and cheer-leading our inner team, IFS for sensuality and pleasure, and blending Mahamhudra and parts work.
We may be biased, but we highly recommend these people.
See below for more details.
And now for the pre-proposed sessions:
IFS and Addiction Recovery with Bill
This session is for those who are in recovery from addiction and who hope that there is more to recovery than abstinence. With IFS, we begin to recognize that bullying one part of the internal family system to achieve an outcome (like sobriety) actually sets you up for failure. Nobody likes to be bullied. Let's talk about an actively compassionate approach to recovery.
Using Loch Kelly's EM Glimpses in an IFS session with Gill
One (lovely) approach to building and sustaining self-essence and self-energy is via Loch Kelly's nondual "Effortless Mindfulness" (EM) exercises/glimpses. In this workshop EM enthusiasts could share hints/tips/resources and demos of how they integrate EM into their real-world IFS sessions with clients unfamiliar with EM. Attendees unfamiliar with EM would get a taste for EM.
Parts Flow: Self Led Group Explorations with Laurie & Axios
In this enlivening co-facilitated group flow space, you’ll be invited to curiously welcome the parts emerging within your inner world, while being gently guided to notice, dis-cover and reveal the embodied insights that spontaneously arise in resonance with others. We'll host sessions every hour, with our final session focused on integrating parts we discovered during the Unconference.
IFS & Psychedelics with Pau
Focusing on the use of MDMA as a healing substance, we will explore how to best prepare our inner and outer systems to have the best possible outcomes of these psychedelic experiences. Borrowing from both personal and professional experience, Pau will share about what tools can be helpful for parts before, during and after experiences.
Coaching and cheer-leading the inner team with Alex
What happens after unburdening? How do we get our parts to learn to work and play together?
How do we support parts of ourselves to take the roles they want to take? How do we support them in learning, taking inspiration from past experiences, or what we want to be?
How do we cheer them in making small steps?
Sexuality and pleasure with an IFS lens with Pau
This will be a space to explore how connecting to our parts can help with reconnecting to our bodies and to Self-energy. We will explore how inner and outer work can be done to tap into the life-giving energy of connection, sexual and sensual pleasure.
Mahamudra meditation and parts exploration with Alex
Taking inspiration from the "6 words to find peace" from Milarepa, we will first experience a parts informed version to allow for spaciousness and unblending, then we will explore how to invite parts in the space of awareness and experience them.
20' or so guided, 20' or so Q&A.
With warmth and excitement,
Pau & Alex at
